Plymouth State College juniors Laura Brusseau and Barndi Bobusia have organized the College’s first annual Hunger and Homelessness Awareness Week, November 18-22 in conjunction with a national effort to enhance awareness and understanding to the magnitude of this problem in the U.S. The schedule includes:
Monday, Nov. 18: Movie-“Homelessness and Voices of Providence in the City of Angels,” 7 p.m. HUB Fireplace Lounge.
Tuesday, Nov. 19: Guest speaker who once struggled with homelessness, 7:30 p.m. HUB 109.
Wednesday, Nov. 20: Sleep out to find out what it is like to live one night without a home, 9 p.m. -7 a.m., HUB Courtyard.
Thursday, Nov. 21: Speaker on how you can get involved in making a difference. What is going on at the local, state and national level regarding these poverty related issues?
7:30 p.m., HUB 109.
Friday, Nov. 22: Food Chain beginning at the HUB and ending downtown at the Congregational Church. 1 p.m.,HUB Courtyard.
