Hurley’s goal leads PSC past UMD

NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Plymouth State College’s women’s soccer team ended the regular season on a high note, defeating UMass Dartmouth 1-0 in a
Little East Conference match Saturday afternoon.

The Panther finsh the regular season at 9-6-2 overall and 4-2-1 in the LEC. UMD drops to 5-9-3 and 1-5-1.

Panther freshman Kristen Hurley (Norfolk, Mass) came off the bench to score the only goal of the contest in the 25th minute, marking the second straight contest
that she’s had PSC’s only tally.

PSC junior keeper Becky Kennedy (West Springfield, Mass) turned away nine shots to earn her third shutout of the season and the eighth of her career. The
Corsairs’ keeper Jenn Nelson finished with five saves.

The Panthers earned the fourth seed in this week’s LEC Tournament and will host fifth-seeded Rhode Island College this Tuesday at Panther Field. PSC defeated
Rhode Island earlier in the season by a score of 2-1.
