Juried high school art exhibit at Plymouth State

Friends of the Arts, Regional Arts Council’s Juried High School Art Exhibit will be on display at Plymouth State University’s Silver Cultural Arts Center Lobby Feb. 1-29. The opening reception will be Feb. 1 from 2 to 4 p.m. with the awards ceremony at 3 p.m. in the Silver Cultural Arts Center lobby.

This juried exhibition, developed in partnership with the Plymouth State University Art Department, honors the imaginative and skillful artworks created by students in secondary schools throughout central and northern New Hampshire. Approximately 100 pieces of art will be selected by the jurors to be included in the exhibit.

The jurors for this show are Bill Haust and Liz D’Amico, both members of the PSU Art Department, and Monika Andersson, a local artist and teacher. There will be $50 cash awards givento the Best in Show, Juror’s Award and Craft Award. Friends of the Arts anticipates at least 20 area schools participating this year, submitting close to 200 pieces of art including painting, drawings, sculptures, photographs, and ceramics.
