PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the senior captains on the Plymouth State College men’s soccer team has been named Little East Conference Player of
Senior goalkeeper Scott Laine (Spencer, Mass.) was chosen for this week’s top LEC honor. It is the first time in his career that Laine has earned
recognition from the conference.
A 6’0”, 170-pound keeper, Laine was in goal for a pair of Panther shutout victories last week. He was credited with two saves in PSC’s 1-0 whitewash at
Bates College last Wednesday, and he made four saves in PSC’s 1-0 blanking of LEC foe Eastern Connecticut. Laine’s work led to him lowering his goals
against average to a league-leading 0.79.
The Panthers have won three in a row to improve their record to 4-3-0 overall and 2-0-0 in the conference. PSC is idle until Saturday (Oct. 6), when the
team travels to Keene State (3:30 p.m.) for a key LEC contest. Both teams are unbeaten in conference play this season. Plymouth State is the defending LEC
champion, and PSC and KSC were picked 1-2 in the conference pre-season poll.
