PLYMOUTH, N.H. — The center-midfielder for the Plymouth State College women’s soccer team has been recognized this week by the Little East Conference for
the game-winning goal against Rhode Island College and for her strong efforts in two other games.
Freshman Cathy Berei (Pennington, N.J.) was selected to the LEC Weekly Honor Roll for the game-winner against RIC, her third score of the season. The goal
helped the Panthers come from behind to post a 2-1 victory over the Anchorwomen.
PSC now improves to 7-6-1 overall, and 2-2-1 in the LEC.
The Panthers will be returning to Panther Field for their last regular season home game on Tues. (Oct. 17) to host the University of Southern Maine (3:30 p.m.).
PSC then wraps up the week with matches Thursday (Oct. 19) at Westfield State (7:00 p.m.), and Saturday (Oct.21) at UMass Dartmouth (1:00 p.m.).
Panther Notes: Junior goalkeeper Becky Kennedy (West Springfield, Mass.) made 30 saves in three PSC games last week, including six in the 2-1 win at RIC.
She also registered 13 saves in a 1-0 loss to Green Mountain College (which is 13-0) and stopped 11 shots against Bowdoin (# 7 nationally ranked). Kennedy has
started and played in all 14 games for the Panthers, and she ranks fifth in the LEC in goals against average (1.23).
