Long Range Technology Plan for PSU

Long Range Technology

In 2000, Plymouth State developed a Long
Range Technology Plan (LRTP) that guided technology strategy for the past
several years. A large component of the plan was the replacement of the POISE
student information system, which resulted the implementation of Banner and a
host of peripheral system upgrades.

Largely successful, that plan is now
dated. PSU is now in the process of writing a new Plan. The charge from President Wharton was for a sub-group of the
Computer Advisory Board to work with the campus to develop and present to him an
updated strategy by May of 2004. While this is an aggressive schedule for an
important task, there exists a significant need to establish PSU priorities
around technologies. The University System plans to update its Long Range Plan
next academic year. Ours must be completed first so we can advocate for PSU
needs there. Furthermore, we need to establish priorities for the growing demand
for technologies on our campus.

DRAFT SEGMENTS of the report are
posted below. Please take some time to review them. We value your input.
The Committee will be hosting other opportunities for campus discussion in the
weeks ahead.
