PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The leading scorer on the Plymouth State College women’s lacrosse team received one of the top weekly honors from the Little East Conference Monday for her performance in PSC’s only game last week.
Panther sophomore Katie Sheridan (West Sayville, N.Y.) was selected LEC Co-Offensive Player of the Week, sharing the award with Emily Valorz of the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth. Sheridan was the sole recipient last week, the first of the season from the conference.
A second-year midfielder, Sheridan scored three goals and added an assist in PSC’s 8-7 conference road victory over Springfield College last Thursday. She netted two goals and an assist in the first half, and then added a game-tying tally with 4:48 remaining in the second half. Sheridan leads the conference with 10 goals (3.33 per game) and ranks second in points with 14 (4.67 per game).
Plymouth State, 2-1, had its home opener against Colby-Sawyer (slated for Monday, Apr. 1) postponed due to a wet field. The game has been rescheduled for Sunday, Apr. 28 at 1:00 p.m. The Panthers are hoping to get the home season started this Thursday, Apr. 4, with a 4:00 p.m. non-conference encounter against Wheaton College (4:00 p.m.), field conditions permitting.
