What is it like climbing the world’s highest mountain? New Hampshire native Jim Gagne brings his first-hand story of scaling Mt. Everest to Plymouth State University in a special appearance, Tuesday, October 17, at 7:30 p.m. in Room 144 of Boyd Science Center.
Gagne was part of the International Mountain Guides team, which left for Nepal last March and began the two-month journey up the famous mountain. Despite illness and an unscheduled rescue of another climber, Gagne reached the 29,035-foot peak in mid-May.
Gagne’s presentation at PSU includes a slide show, “Journey to the Top of the World,”
and is free to PSU ID holders with a $5 admission to the public. Gagne’s appearance is sponsored by the Geography Club, the Outing Club, the Advancement Office, the Provost’s Office and the Vice President of Academic Affairs.
