PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The New England College men’s lacrosse team used a 6-0 second quarter to lead the Pilgrims to an 18-10 victory over Plymouth
State at Panther Field on Monday night.

NEC (10-1) spoiled the Panthers (4-6) first ever night game by outscoring Plymouth 13-2 through the final 45 minutes. PSC jumped out to an early 4-0 lead
and held an 8-5 advantage after the first quarter, but both the Pilgrims offense and defense picked up from that point.

Junior Dave Mansfield (Billerica, MA) led the New England attack, scoring four times in the decisive second quarter and finishing the game with seven
goals. Chris Zaveruha (Tyringham, MA) added three goals and an assist while Aaron Park (Bay of Isl, NFD) and Brent Thomas (Longmeadow, MA) each
added two goals and three assists.

The trio of Nate Ostis (Yarmouth, ME), Josh Perry (Falmouth, MA) and Jim Martocchio (Simsbury, CT) once again provided the majority of the
Panther offense. Senior tri-captain Ostis finished with three goals and an assist while classmate Perry added two goals and two assists. Martocchio, the super
sophomore, contributed with a hat trick, pushing his career total to 89 goals.

NEC’s Matt Jones (Woodstock, VT) played superbly in net, making 16 stops. Plymouth’s Kevin Gholami (Uniontown, PA) made eight first half saves
before giving way to Nate Pearson (Bow, NH), who made six second half saves.

The Panthers will next play on Wednesday (Apr. 21) at Norwich University before hosting UMass Boston in a key Pilgrim League game on Saturday (Apr.
24) at 1:00 p.m. New England College travels to Gordon College Wednesday (Apr. 21) and hosts Salve Regina on Saturday (Apr. 24) at 1:00 p.m.
