New England Student Debaters to Contend at PSC

The Plymouth State College Forensics Team will host the 2003 New England Regional Speech and Debate Championship on Saturday, February 22 in Hyde Hall. Students from 10 New England colleges and universities will take part.

Speech events include informative, persuasive, impromptu, extemporaneous speaking, after-dinner speaking, dramatic duo, dramatic, poetry and prose interpretation, rhetorical criticism and programmed oral interpretation.
In addition, nearly 30 Lincoln Douglas debaters who will argue the proposition: “Resolved: that the United States Federal Government should increase assistance to residents living below the poverty line.”

Colleges taking part in the regional championship include: Plymouth State, Franklin Pierce College, Suffolk University, University of Rhode Island, Wheaton College, University of Southern Maine, Simmons College, Bridgewater State College and St. Anselm College.
