Retha Lindsey Fielding has been promoted to vice president for institutional advancement at Plymouth State College. In her new position, Fielding will oversee public relations, alumni, development, sports information and the Silver Cultural Arts Center.

“Since coming to Plymouth State two years ago, Retha has helped us redefine our image, improve communications, reconnect with our alumni and refuel our development efforts,” says PSC President Donald Wharton. “This past year she was also assigned responsibility for external and governmental affairs, and played a significant role for Plymouth in the University System’s KEEP campaign. Her knowledge and experience will help us further advance the College’s mission. I’m delighted she has accepted this new position.”

Fielding’s promotion was approved by the executive committee of the USNH board of trustees, based on a recommendation from President Wharton and Chancellor Reno. Previously, she was the College’s director of public relations and advancement. She also served as director of college relations at Keene State College for six years. Currently, Fielding is the president of the Yankee Chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and has been selected to the 2001-2002 Leadership New Hampshire class.

Fielding holds a bachelor’s degree in mass communication from the University of Texas and an MBA from Plymouth State. She is also an APR – accredited public relations practitioner – by the Public Relations Society of America.
