New Hampshire Women in Higher Education Leadership (NHWHEL)
Presents a Spring Conference
Woman Leaders: Anticipating, Initiating and Creating Change

Dear NHWHEL Institutional Liaison:

On Friday, March 2, senior leaders in higher education in New Hampshire will come together to network and examine the many facets of women’s leadership in higher education. We invite you to join in that conversation. Former NH Governor Jeanne Shaheen, Director of the Institute of Politics (IOP) at Harvard University’s John F. Kennedy School of Government, will give the keynote address on issues of women’s leadership and change, and the luncheon speaker will be Gloria Thomas, Assistant Director of the American Council on Education’s Office of Women. It promises to be a stimulating conversation, one that should affirm and renew us as we prepare for the opportunities that await us.

NHWHEL is working to reestablish a state network of the American Council on Education Office of Women in Higher Education to provide professional development and networking opportunities for women in New Hampshire. The March Conference has been planned to support and encourage women to advance in higher education. Conference program and registration materials are attached. The conference is being held at the Best Western Executive Court Inn and Conference Center on Friday, March 2. The cost of participation is only $50/registration. Please circulate these widely among the women leaders at your institution and encourage them to attend.

In addition to the Friday conference, all institutional liaisons are invited to a business meeting, reception, and dinner beginning on Thursday, March 1 at 4:30 pm. A block of rooms has been reserved at the Best Western if you wish to spend the night before the conference in Manchester. You should contact the hotel directly to make that reservation. Please let me know if you will attend the Thursday evening meeting and dinner by emailing me at jdickson@keene.edu. Conference registrations and checks should be mailed or faxed to Elaine St. Jean at Granite State College as noted on the registration form. Thank you for your efforts on behalf of NHWHEL.
