Norwich pins loss on Panthers

NORTHFIELD, Vt. – Norwich University, the second-ranked team in New England, knocked off Plymouth State College 30-14 Wednesday evening in a
wrestling dual match at Andrews Hall.

The Cadets and Panthers each won four individual bouts, but Norwich also earned two forfeit victories and pinned two PSC opponents to win the match

Norwich’s Jon Capen (Peru, N.Y.), at 174 pounds, and Andrew Acosta (N. Attleboro, Mass.), at 165, each registered a pin for the Cadets. Niko
Fillipakis (Bridgeport, Conn.) and Damon Lattimore (Newark, NJ) were also winners for the hosts.

Plymouth State got victories from senior Shaun Cleary (West Keansburg, N.J.) at 141 pounds, senior Lee Miller (Concord, N.H.) at 149, junior Rich
Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) at 157, and junior Nate Kittredge (Vergennes, Vt.) at 184.

Norwich, 1-0 in dual match competition, will wrestle at the Springfield Invitational on Saturday. PSC, 0-1, will compete in the SUNY Oneonta Red
Dragon Invitational on Saturday.
