WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. – Freshman Justin Vallas (Wilmington, Mass.) scored all four of his team’s goals Saturday to lead Worcester State College to a 4-1
victory over Plymouth State College in an ECAC Northeast Conference game at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
Two of Vallas’ goals came on the power play, and two at even strength. His first score tied the game at 1-1 with just seven seconds left in the opening period, and
his fourth goal came with just 16 seconds remaining in the second frame, giving his team a 4-1 lead.
Plymouth State scored the first goal of the contest, as sophomore Dan Molinari (Hyannis, Mass.) put in his third of the season at the 15:16 mark of the first period,
with freshman Garrett Dionne (Clarence Center, N.Y.) picking up an assist.
The rest of the scoring belonged to Vallas, who leads the Lancers in scoring with 14 goals and 29 points. He scored at 11:23 and 14:58 of the second before
adding his fourth goal in the closing seconds of the middle stanza.
PSC junior goalie Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) made 48 saves, while WSC sophomore Mike Jezierski (Plymouth, Mass.), who transferred from Plymouth State,
made 29 saves for the Lancers.
The victory improves Worcester State to 11-11-0 overall and 8-7-0 in the ECAC Northeast, while PSC drops to 4-19-1 and 4-12-0. The Lancers return home
Tuesday at 8:00 p.m. to host Nichols, while PSC wraps up the season Tuesday at Western New England (8:15 p.m.)
