Panther Goalie Receives ECAC Honor

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A member of the Plymouth State College ice hockey team has been honored by the ECAC for his performance in a pair of conference road games over the

Sophomore goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH) was selected to the ECAC Northeast Weekly Honor Roll. He is the first Panther to be so honored this season.

A 5’7”, 160-pound goalie, Forgue stopped 63 of the 69 shots he faces (.913 saves percentage), helping the Panthers to a key 3-3 overtime tie at perennial power UMass
Dartmouth on Saturday, and a 3-1 loss at Johnson & Wales on Sunday. He made 35 saves against UMD and 28 vs. J&W, improving his saves percentage to .887 and his goals against
average to 3.98.

Forgue was an ECAC Northeast All-Star last season when he set the school record for goals against average in a season (2.56).

Plymouth State, 1-6-2 overall and 1-2-2 in the ECAC Northeast, plays its first home game in over a month Tuesday (Jan. 11) when it hosts Assumption College at Waterville Valley
Ice Arena (7:00 p.m.). The Panthers will also be at home Saturday (Jan. 15) against conference foe Framingham State (7:00 p.m.).

PANTHER NOTES: PSC senior captain Eric Ryan (North Chelmsford, Mass.) is closing in on the 100-point milestone for his career. He scored a goal at UMD to improve his
totals to 46 goals, 51 assists and 97 points in 81 games. Ryan would become just the fifth Panther in history to reach the milestone, and the first since Jeff Craig in 1996-97…. Two
other Panthers have a shot at reaching 100 career points this season. Senior Rich Vega (New Milford, Conn.), who leads the team in scoring this season (4-7–11 in nine games),
enters the week with 85 points (32-53-85 in 80 games). Classmate Kevin Creighton (Falmouth, Mass.), who scored the only goal against J&W, has 75 points (30-45-75 in 72 games).
