WORCESTER, Mass. – Sara Malatos came off the bench to score the only goal of the game Tuesday evening to give Worcester State College a 1-0 victory over
Plymouth State College in a non-conference women’s soccer match.
Malatos finished off a corner kick to give the Lancers a 1-0 lead with two minutes to go in the first half, but neither team was able to score the rest of the way. PSC
put six shots on goal, four in the first half, while Worcester State recorded seven shots on goal, four in the second half.
Erin Hazen made three saves to post the shutout for WSC, while freshman Hayley Quinones (Waitsfield, Vt.) stopped six shots for the Panthers.
PSC, 2-5-0 overall, gets back into Little East Conference action Saturday with a home game at Panther Field against Eastern Connecticut (3:00 p.m.)
