PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State College gave up two second-half goals Saturday afternoon and fell to nationally-ranked Wheaton College by a score of 2-0 in a
non-conference women’s soccer game at Panther Field.
With the loss PSC falls to a 1-3 overall record in the early season, while 12-ranked Wheaton is 3-0 and has yet to surrender a goal.
After a scoreless first half, Wheaton sophomore forward Tracy Prihoda (Needham, Mass.) scored in the 58th minute on a cross from teammate Erin Brennan
(Mesa, Ariz.). In the 67th minute Prihoda struck again kicking the ball off a Plymouth defender to score her second of the day.
PSC’s senior goalie Becky Kennedy (W. Springfield, Mass.) played outstanding in goal, stopping 13 shots. Wheaton keeper Emily Boeing (Sudbury, Mass.) had
three saves for the day as the Lyons outshot the Panthers 21-4.
Plymouth State is at home for its next five games. The Panthers take on Green Mountain College on Monday, Sept. 10, Brandeis on Wed. Sept. 12, and UMass
Dartmouth Saturday Sept. 15. The kick-off time for these games is 4 p.m.
