BEVERLY, Mass. – The Plymouth State College field hockey team registered its seventh straight victory Thursday afternoon, blanking Endicott College
5-0 in a non-conference game.
The victory improves PSC to 10-1 overall with eight shutouts while the Power Gulls drop to 6-7.
PSC junior goalies Ellen Ward (Thorndike, Maine) and Kerry Brady (Jefferson, N.H.) combined on the whitewash, each making one save in 35 minutes
of action as PSC outshot Endicott 21-3.
The Panthers got goals from five different players to record the win, including four in the first half.
Seniors Jill Matteson (Chatham, Mass.), Marushka Eddy (Nantucket, Mass.) and Katie Dodge (Sanbornton, N.H.) and sophomore Amanda
Gutowski (Conway, N.H.) gave PSC a 4-0 lead at the break, and junior Andrea Musante (Amherst, Mass.) added a second-half tally. Dodge, senior Melanie
McAvey (North Grafton, Mass.) and junior Brandy Adams (Jaffrey, N.H.) all registered assists in the game. The Panthers have outscored their opponents 33-5
Plymouth State, which is ranked #1 in the current NCAA New England West regional poll, returns to Little East Conference action in its next game
Sunday at Eastern Connecticut (2:00 p.m.). PSC is unbeaten (6-0) in conference play.
