STANDISH, Maine – Senior forwards Heather Adey (Nashua, N.H.) and Courtney Albert (Hudson, N.H.) combined for 39 points, 19 rebounds and 10
assistsThursday night, leading Plymouth State College’s women’s basketball team to an 81-75 non-conference victory over Saint Joseph’s College.
Adey scored a season-high 21 points, hitting 9-of-13 shots from the field, while collecting nine rebounds. Albert was three assists shy of her first career
triple-double, as she finished with 18 points, 10 boards and seven assists.
The win was PSC’s second straight, improving the Panthers to 7-5 overall, while Saint Joseph’s dropped to 9-5 overall. The two teams met earlier this year at the
Colby Tip-Off Tournament, with PSC coming out on top, 73-66.
In addition to Adey and Albert, PSC got 12 and 11 points, respectively, from seniors Whitney Morin (Derby Line, Vt.) and Jenn Pelletier (Derry, N.H.). Freshman
Katie Susat (Glastonbury, Conn.) came off the bench to contribute a season-high 10 points.
The Monks got a solid performance from Laura Pelkey, who finished with a game-high 22 points. Tara Gagnon and Abbie Rice added 15 points apiece, and
Morgan Brownlee registered 15 points and 10 rebounds.
The Panthers resume Little East Conference action Saturday with a 1:00 p.m. contest at Rhode Island College.
