POMONA, N.J. – Richard Stockton College scored four goals in both the third and four quarters Monday, defeating Plymouth State College in men’s lacrosse, 12-8.
PSC senior Jim Martocchio (Simsbury, Conn.), who scored a record 86 goals last season, led all scorers Monday with five goals. Sophomore Jason Biedrzycki (Amherst, N.H.) added a goal and two assists, and senior JP Sallese (Beverly, Mass.) contributed three assists. Junior Andy Quesnel (Middlebury, Vt.) and freshman Mike Bicchieri (Londonderry, N.H.) also counted goals for PSC.
Stockton took a 3-0 lead after one quarter, but PSC outscored the hosts 4-1 in the second period to create a 4-4 tie at halftime. RSC went up 8-5 after three quarters and finished off PSC in the final stanza.
Junior goaltender Jon Clark (Yarmouth, Maine) made 25 saves for PSC while allowing only 12 goals.
PSC returns to New England for its next contest, Thursday (Mar. 22) against Colby College at Harvard University (7 p.m.).
