Panthers fall to Endicott in ninth

April 3rd, 2001 by Adam

BEVERLY, Mass. – Sophomore Matt Morrison drove home the winning run in the bottom of the ninth inning Tuesday to give Endicott College a 3-2 victory over
Plymouth State College in non-conference baseball action.

The game was originally scheduled to be played at Plymouth State, but was moved to Endicott due to snow on Panther Field.

PSC scored one run in the first and sixth innings, and Endicott countered with two runs in the fourth inning. The winning run in the ninth inning off PSC reliever Jeff
Morgan (Laconia, N.H.) made a winner out of Endicott reliever Rod Amidon (1-3). PSC starter Kevin Locke (Pike, N.H.) worked into the ninth inning but suffered the
tough-luck loss to fall to 0-2.

Sophomore Matt Price (Epping, N.H.) had two of PSC’s six hits, including a double, while driving in one run.

PSC, 2-10, returns to action Saturday (Apr. 7) with a Little East Conference doubleheader at UMass Dartmouth (12 p.m.) Those games were also scheduled to be
played at PSC but have been moved because of the snow. Endicott is now 4-5.
