BROCKPORT, N.Y. – Plymouth State College’s wrestling team finished with a 1-2 record Saturday in a quadrangular meet at SUNY Brockport,
defeating Oneonta State but losing to Norwich and host Brockport.
The Panthers began the day with a 24-22 decision over Oneonta before suffering a 28-16 verdict to Norwich and a 34-15 setback to Brockport. PSC is
now 5-4 in duals this season.
The top wrestler for Plymouth State for the afternoon was sophomore Nate Kittredge (Vergennes, Vt.). He won all three of his matches at 197
pounds, improving his season record to 14-2, the second most wins on the team. One of his victories was a pin over Matt Sykes of Brockport, his fourth fall of
Sophomore Rich Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) and senior Moses Cerritos (Naples, Fla.) posted 2-1 records for the Panthers. Moskowitz earned wins
over Oneonta at 165 pounds and Brockport at 157, including a pin against Brockport’s Garrett Ciotoli, to improve his individual record to 13-5. Cerritos
captured victories at 174 pounds against Oneonta and Norwich, improving his mark to 7-5.
Three Panthers wrestlers completed the day with one win in three tries — junior Nate Buffington (Plymouth, N.H.) at 125, freshman Charlie Kenna
(Concord, N.H.) at 133 and 141, and freshman Griffin Banos (Edison, N.J.) at 149. Senior Todd Austin (Rumford, Maine) split a pair of matches at
heavyweight, and freshman Rick Simula (Plymouth, N.H.) won his only bout at heavyweight.
Senior Marco Salce (Keene, N.H.), who leads the Panthers with 16 victories, came up empty in all three of his 184-pound matches, dropping his mark
