MYERS, Florida – Plymouth State College scored four runs in the bottom of the fifth inning Sunday to break a scoreless tie and lead the Panthers to a 4-0
whitewash over Bowdoin College Sunday in the opener of the annual Gene Cusic Collegiate Softball Classic.

The Panthers dropped the first game, 8-0, to the University of Chicago. PSC managed only one hit, a single by sophomore Bo Dell (Porter Corners, N.Y.) in the
second inning.

PSC came back with the win over Bowdoin, giving interim head coach Harry Blood his first victory with the Panthers. Freshman Mo Cancellieri (Stoughton, Mass.)
and sophomore Steph Marsland (Cumberland, R.I.) each had key hits in PSC’s four-run fifth inning.

The two PSC games scheduled for Monday, vs. Smith and Pine Manor Colleges, were washed out. The Panthers return to action Tuesday evening with contests
against Mass. College (6 p.m.) and Hamline (Minn.) University (8 p.m.).
