PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State College women’s tennis team suffered its first loss of the season Thursday afternoon, dropping a 9-0 decision to Endicott College at the P.E. Center Courts.
The loss dropped the Panthers to 6-1 overall, while the Power Gulls improved to 8-1.
PSC seniors Jamie Hazard (Foster, R.I.) and Sarah Kasuba (Stratford, Conn.) and freshman Whitney O’Leary (Sagamore Beach, Mass.) all took their first singles losses of the season. Hazard dropped a tiebreaker at No. 1 singles to fall to 6-1 on the season, while O’Leary lost at No. 3 singles and saw her record dip to 4-1 and Kasuba was defeated at No. 5 and is now 3-1.
The Panthers will be idle until next Tuesday (Oct. 8) when they host Saint Anselm College in the final dual match of the season (3:00 p.m.).
PSC’s match against Western Connecticut, which was scheduled for this Saturday (Oct. 5) has been forfeited by WCSU and will not be played.
