PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State College women’s tennis team improved its record to 4-1 Saturday Sept. 22, defeating the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth in a Little East Conference match, 8-1.
The Panthers won all three eight-game pro-sets in doubles, then took five of the six singles matches. The Panther winners in singles include junior Jamie Hazard (Foster, R.I.) at No. 1, junior sophomore Katie Olsen (Reading, Mass.) at No. 3, Sarah Kasuba (Stratford, Conn.) at No. 4, sophomore Lindsay Coletti (Hudson, Mass.) at No. 5, and freshman Cassie Cash (Bath, Maine) at No. 6. Kasuba leads the team with a perfect 5-0 record in singles.
The PSC winners in doubles included Hazard and Olsen at No. 1, Thorup and Kasuba at No. 2, sophomore Holly Mills (Reading, Mass.) and freshman Kelley Sheehan (Newburyport, Mass.) at No. 3.
PSC travels to Southern Maine Wednesday (Sept. 26) for a 3:30 p.m. start. The Panthers return home next Saturday (Sept. 29) to face UMass Boston (1:00 p.m.)
