PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The Plymouth State College women’s tennis team registered its fifth consecutive victory Saturday, handing UMass Boston a 6-4 defeat in a Little East Conference match at the P.E. Center Courts.
Plymouth State won four of the six singles matches that were played, and two out of the three doubles matches. Junior Jamie Hazard (Foster, R.I.) picked up a victory at No. 1 singles for PSC, sophomore Katie Olsen (Reading, Mass.) was victorious at No. 2, and junior Sarah Kasuba (Stratford, CT) and Lindsay Coletti (Hudson, Mass.) were successful at the No.4 and 5 spots, respectively.
In the doubles matches, Hazard and Olsen defeated UMass Boston, 8-6, at the No. 1 spot. PSC’s other victorious tandem was sophomore Cally Thorup (Cumberland, Maine) and Kasuba at the No. 2.
The Panthers, now 6-1, already have the most wins in a season since the 1995 team finished 7-4. PSC returns to action Monday (Oct. 1) against Castleton State (3:30 p.m.).
