Pelotte named ECAC New England Men’s Basketball Player of the Year

              PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The parade of post-season honors continued Tuesday for Plymouth State University’s all-star men’s basketball player.

Senior guard Nick Pelotte (Bingham, Maine) was named Eastern College Athletic Conference (ECAC) Division III New England Player of the Year and First Team All-Star on Tuesday. Pelotte (right) was also selected New Hampshire’s Division III Most Valuable Player and First Team All-Star by the N.H. Men’s Basketball Coaches Association.

Pelotte was joined on the New Hampshire All-Star First Team by sophomore forward Andreas Pope (Brooklyn, N.Y.), and Panther head coach John Scheinman was voted Coach of the Year.

              A speedy 5’10” guard, the ECAC New England Player of the Year honor is the latest in a long list of awards Pelotte has accumulated this year.  Here are some of his honors in 2004-05:

·         All-Northeast Region First Team – National Association of Basketball Coaches
·         All-Northeast Region First Team –
·         ECAC All-New England First Team
·         New Hampshire Most Valuable Player – N.H. Men’s Basketball Coaches Association
·         All-New Hampshire First Team – N.H. Men’s Basketball Coaches Association
·         All-Little East Conference First Team
·         Little East Conference Tournament – Most Outstanding Player
·         Scored record 62 points in LEC Tournament Championship game
·         Ranked 3rd in the nation in scoring (28.1 ppg)
·         ECAC New England Player of the Week (Dec. 14, Jan. 11, Feb. 9, Mar. 2)
·         Little East Conference – Player of the Week  (Dec. 13, Jan. 10, Jan. 24, Feb. 7, Mar. 1)
·         Little East Conference – Weekly Honor Roll  (Nov. 22, Jan. 3, Jan. 31)
