WATERVILLE VALLEY, N.H. – Senior Dan Roy (Methuen, Mass.) scored two goals and one assist Tuesday evening to lead New Hampshire College to an 8-2
victory over Plymouth State College in an ECAC Northeast conference ice hockey game at Waterville Valley Ice Arena.
Seniors Tom Fielding (Manchester, N.H./Trinity) and Rich Miller (Morristown, N.J.) each added a goal and an assist for the Penmen, and senior Chuck Croteau
(Wellington, Fla.) and sophomore Doug Place (Bedford, N.H.) both contributed three assists.
The game was deadlocked at 1-1 at the end of the first period, but NHC tallied six unanswered goals in the second period to put the game away. The Penmen
advance to 7-5-1 overall and 4-2-0 in conference play, while PSC drops to 2-11-1 and 2-4-0.
Also getting into the scoring column for NHC was senior Kyle Lapane (Placentia, Cal.), junior Nick Nugent (Hudson, N.H.), junior Ryan Frew (Concord, N.H.), and
senior Matt Nee (South Boston, Mass.).
PSC got the first goal of the game from junior John Hornor (Marlton, N.J.), and a late third-period power play score from freshman Bryan Croft (Webster, N.H.).
Senior Erik Nadeau (Watervile, Maine) picked up assists on both tallies.
Both teams used two goaltenders. NHC netminders Brian Holland (Bordentown, N.J.) and Chris Vokes (Auburn, Mass.) combined for 16 saves, and PSC goalies
Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) and Mike Mansson (Jackson, Wy.) combined for 32 stops.
PSC returns to action Saturday at home against conference foe Johnson & Wales (4:00 p.m.), while NHC plays again Thursday at Northeast opponent Western
New England (8:15 p.m.).
