An exciting season of fine and performing arts events welcomes area patrons back to Plymouth State College after the summer hiatus.
Leading off will be a Silver Series guest artist performance by the renowned jazz quartet, The Yellowjackets at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 8
Second up in the series is Driving Miss Daisy, at 8 p.m. Saturday, September 22. The Pulitzer Prize-winning play by Alfred Uhry is produced by A Mixed Company and hosted by Friends of the Arts.
The Department of Music and Theatre has three events in a variety of venues at Silver Hall in September. On Saturday the 14th, also at 8 p.m., the dance section of the department will host a Faculty Dance Concert, showcasing works by faculty and guest choreographers and performers.
On Sunday, September 16, Dan Perkins and the Ruggieri Chamber Soloists offer a concert of works by Dvorák, Shostakovich and Vaughn Williams, beginning at 1 p.m.
Opening on Wednesday, September 26 and ending with a matinee on Sunday, September 30, students take to the boards in Crimes of the Heart, nightly at 8 p.m., Saturday at 2 p.m. and 8 p.m., and Sunday at 4 p.m. Crimes of the Heart is directed by Angela Saddler, ’99.
Tickets for all Silver Cultural Arts Center events are available at the Box Office in the Main Street facility, Monday through Friday, noon – 6 p.m. and one hour before performances.
