Plymouth National Guard Battalion Sendoff

More than 180 members of 197th Battery B Field Artillery of the New Hampshire National Guard are being deployed Friday. This includes 56 troops from the Plymouth unit who will be deployed for up to 18 months, starting at Ft. Dix in New Jersey, in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom.

A formal battalion sendoff is scheduled for 11 a.m. Wednesday, January 7 at the Plymouth State University Foley Gymnasium. Gov. Craig Benson and the adjutant general of the National Guard, Maj. Gen. John E. Blair, are scheduled to attend. Formal remarks will be followed by a brief reception at approximately 11:45 a.m.
