Vocal Order, Plymouth State University’s men’s a cappella group, will share the Plymouth State stage with The Hyannis Sound, a professional award-winning men’s group from Cape Cod at 8 p.m. Friday, March 31. The concert will be held in the Boyd Science Center, room 144.
In recent years, Vocal Order has performed throughout New England. In 2005, the group competed in the International Competition of College A Cappella for the first time, bringing home a first place award in the Northeast semifinals, placing third at the Northeast finals, and receiving awards for outstanding soloist and vocal percussion. Now in their 13th year, The Hyannis Sound comprises 10 men from across the country who convene each summer. They constantly push to expand the diversity and complexity of their music, bringing to their audience a unique program each night. The Hyannis Sound has released seven albums, the latest of which, “Route 6” is nominated for two Contemporary A Cappella Recording awards.
