Plymouth State University’s Winter Fantasia

November 18th, 2003 by Adam

Patrons are invited to enjoy the unique charm and magic of the coming Winter Solstice captured in the dynamic beauty of dance at this year’s Winter Fantasia.

Produced by the Plymouth State University dance program and featuring the PSU Contemporary Dance Ensemble, Winter Fantasia includes performances of modern dance, ballet, jazz and pointe. The choreography evolves from narration created by PSU Professor of English, Paul Rogalus, and is characterized by New Hampshire’s distinctive Winter season.

Winter Fantasia was choreographed by Joan Wiegers, director of dance, with adjunct dance faculty Patricia Biagiani, Xochitl Tejeda de Cerda, and Priscilla Wagner.

The concert will feature a guest performance by the young dance students of BP Studios, a community dance program under the direction of Carole Ann Morrison. All ages can delight in this evening of artistic merriment welcoming the new season.

Winter Fantasia is Friday and Saturday, December 5 and 6 at 8 p.m. in the Hanaway Theater. Tickets are available for $10 at the Silver Cultural Arts Box Office, Monday through Friday from noon – 6 p.m., or by calling 535-ARTS (535-2787). Group rates are available.
