January 25th, 2006 by Adam

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Classes begin March 2, 2006 for students enrolled in PSU’s new Master of Business Administration (MBA) certificate in Health Care Administration program. The classes will be offered on the campus of the New Hampshire Technical Institute in Concord, N.H. on Thursday nights from 6 – 9:30 p.m.

MBA Advisor and Director of PSU’s Small Business Institute Craig Zamzow says, “This certificate is a unique way to specialize in the health care industry and obtain the MBA. The instructors are recognized experts in the health care field, and we are fortunate to have them teaching in the program. This is a convenient and inexpensive way to obtain continuing education credits and work towards a certificate and/or MBA at the same time.”

Specially designed for health care professionals, the program consists of five courses designed to address critical issues challenging health care professionals: Introduction to Health Care Industry Issues and Challenges, Human Resource Issues in Health Care, Legal and Ethical Issues in Health Care, Finance in the Health Care Industry and Seminar in Health Care Administration.
Completion of these five courses, plus an additional five graduate business courses can lead to a full MBA degree. Applicants must possess a bachelor’s degree with a minimum cumulative grade point average of 2.5 or better. The first certificates will be awarded in May 2007 upon successful completion of program requirements.

The Health Care Administration Cerrtificate program is also appropriate for individuals needing to balance and enhance their clinical skills with business knowledge, those needing to obtain continuing education credits in order to advance their career, individuals moving into a new role requiring effective leadership and management skills, and those responsible for legal compliance issues within their organization concerned about the risks of law suits.

Plymouth State University’s MBA program is fully accredited by ACBSP and is the longest running evening program in New Hampshire. For more information on the MBA Health Care Administration Certificate Program, contact Craig Zamzow at (603) 535-3020 or e-mail mba@plymouth.edu.
