‘PSC Alumna Named ‘Citizen of the Year’

Debbie Merrill ’78 was named Exeter, N.H. Citizen of the Year for her work on behalf of the community.
The award was presented on Friday, October 27 by the Exeter Area Chamber of Commerce and the Exeter Rotary Club.
Merrill, a math teacher in the community for 15 years, was nominated becuase of her influence on the community, particularly children.
Merrill wrote and received three grants in one year to design and build a ropes course at the Cooperative Middle School in Exeter. The course is a vehicle for students to improve individual skills in an outdoor environment.
Debbie Merrill is a 1978 graduate of Plymouth State College, with a degree in Mathematics education. She is married and has two children, 18 and 15.
