Sculptor and Plymouth State College alumnus,
Mike Bannon ’80, discovered clay animation when he was a boy. Thirty years later, after studying sculpture and art history at Plymouth State, Bannon is still playing with clay.
Bannon and his brother, Mark, formerly of Belmont, N.H., own Wreckless Abandon Studios, a company that specializes in stop-motion production, clay animation and 3D computer animation, in East Granby, Conn.
Years of work recently culminated in a network special written and directed by Bannon, “A Freezerburnt Christmas.” The clay animation holiday special aired on NBC stations at 8:30 p.m. Saturday, December 21.
