PURCHASE, N.Y. – Manhattanville College scored five first period goals Saturday evening and never looked back, going on to defeat Plymouth State College 8-1 in
a non-conference ice hockey game.
The Valiants outshot the Panthers 53-28. Sophomore Ray Williams and freshman Bill Cummings led the way for Manhattanville with two goals apiece.
Plymouth State’s only score came midway through the third period, when junior Aaron Fifield (Northfield Falls, Vt.) connected on a power play goal, his first of the
season, with senior Erik Nadeau (Waterville, Maine) picking up an assist.
PSC junior Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) started in the Panther net, allowing four goals on 13 shots before being pulled after 11 minutes and 35 seconds.
Freshman Mike Mansson (Wilson, WY) came on and made 36 saves the rest of the way.
The Panthers, 1-3-1 overall, face Southern Maine in another non-conference affair Tuesday (Dec. 5) in Gorham, Maine.
