PLYMOUTH, N.H. – The co-captains of the Plymouth State College women’s basketball team have been selected to play in the 18th annual New England
Women’s Basketball Association Senior Classic.
Forward Krystyna Zagorski (Matawan, NJ) and forward/guard Kate Fillion (Littleton, NH) will be among the players competing. The all-star game is in conjunction
with the Women’s Division III Final Four this Saturday, Mar. 17th, in Danbury, Conn. for a 2:00 p.m. tip-off.
Zagorski was a key player for the Panthers this season. Starting in 26 games, she averaged 12.6 points per game, was second on her team with 6.5 rebounds per
game and was third in steals with 48. She received honorable mention on the 2001 All-LEC Team. Zagorski finishes her career with a total of 1061 points, which is the
fourth on the all time scoring list.
Fillion was also instrumental in the success of the Panthers’ 2000-01 season. She missed seven games at the start of this season due to illness, but started in
19 games, averaging 6.9 points. Fillion made a career total of 143 three-pointers, which makes her the all-time leading three-point scorer in school history. She
graduates with 759 points, putting her 13th on the PSC all-time scoring list.
Fillion and Zagorski helped lead PSC to its second consecutive 20-win season in 2000-01. The Panthers finished third in the Little East Conference with a 10-4
mark, and advanced to the semi-finals of the ECAC New England Tournament, finishing with a 20-8 overall record.
