PLYMOUTH, N.H. – One of the co-captains of the Plymouth State College women’s soccer team has been named Little East Conference Player of the Week after
leading the Panthers to a 3-0 week.
Senior midfielder Tara Dickson (Sussex, NJ) received the conference’s top weekly honor as the Panthers extended their winning streak to four games. The Panthers swept all
three games last week, knocking off LEC foe Southern Maine 2-1 in double overtime on Tuesday, blasting Colby-Sawyer 10-0 on Thursday, and blanking UMass Dartmouth 3-0 at
Panther Field on Saturday.
Dickson scored her first goal of the week in the blowout over Colby-Sawyer, and added two more in Saturday’s key LEC win over UMD. She shares the team lead in goals this
season with eight, and owns the overall PSC scoring lead with 22 points, which is fifth in the LEC. A four-year starter, Dickson is the Panthers’ active career scoring leader with 23
goals, 16 assists and 62 points.
The win over UMD solidified third place for PSC in the LEC regular season standings, as well as the third seed in this weekend’s conference tournament. The Panthers will
travel to Keene, NH, for a 6 p.m. contest Friday (Oct. 29) against second-seeded Keene State. Regular-season champion Western Connecticut will host fourth-seeded Eastern
Connecticut in Friday’s other semi-final, with the highest remaining seed hosting the LEC championship game Sunday at 12 noon. The LEC tournament champion receives an
automatic bid to the Division III NCAA Championship Tournament.
Plymouth State, 11-5-1 overall and 4-2-1 in the LEC under first-year head coach Rebecca Lisack, wraps up the regular season with the home finale Wednesday (Oct. 27) vs.
Green Mountain College (3 p.m.).
