KEENE, N.H. – Sophomore Robin Hartman (Santa Maria, Cal.) scored four goals and added two assists Wednesday to lead Plymouth State College to a 13-3 New England Women’s Lacrosse Alliance victory over arch-rival Keene State College.
It was the fifth straight win for the Panthers (6-2, 3-0 NEWLA), while Keene State remains winless at 0-5 (0-2 NEWLA).
Hartman extended her team lead in the scoring department. She now has 29 points on 23 goals and six assists. Freshman Heather Adey (Nashua, NH) also scored three goals and two assists for the Panthers, and senior Amanda Beedy (New Hampton, NH) contributed a pair of scores.
Single goals were tallied by senior Faith Wahlen (Hampstead, NH), junior Courtney O’Sullivan (North Kingston, NH), and sophomores Brooke Smith (Columbia, SC), and Janet Conner (South Freeport, Maine).
Keene State got goals from Justina Wentworth (Keene, NH), Kathleen Marucci (W.Newton, Mass.) and Ryan Curran (Forestdale, Mass.).
KSC scored the first goal of the game, but PSC notched the next five, including two in the final minute of the first half, to take a 5-1 at the break. The Panthers outscored the Owls 8-2 in the second half to cruise to the win.
Freshman Christina Dormen (Garland, Maine) stopped 12 shots for Keene State, while junior Lisa Goldberg (Newton, Mass.) made eight saves for the Panthers.
The Panthers return to action Saturday (4/15) with a non-conference encounter at Bowdoin (1 p.m.) before returning home to Arold Field next Monday (4/17) to host Eastern Connecticut (3:30 p.m.). KSC hosts Salem State on Friday (4/14) at 4 p.m.
