PSC drops season opener at Colby-Sawyer

NEW LONDON, N.H. – The Colby-Sawyer women’s tennis team claimed its first victory of the season Saturday with an 8-1 defeat of intrastate rival Plymouth State College. It was the first collegiate win for new head coach Marty Perry.

The Chargers jumped out to an early 3-0 lead by sweeping the doubles competition. CSC proceeded to clinch the match by winning five of the six singles matches.

Freshman Katie Olsen (Reading, Mass.) provided the Panthers’ lone victory at No. 3 singles.

PSC returns to action seeking its first victory of the season Tuesday (Sept. 12) at St. Michael’s College (3:30 p.m.)
