PLYMOUTH, N.H. – A pair of Plymouth State College hockey players have been selected to the Eastern College Athletic Conference Northeast All-Star Team.
Senior defenseman Steve Colonna (Falmouth, MA) and freshman goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH) earned All-League Second Team honors. Colonna was named to the
All-League team for the second straight season, while Forgue earned his first All-Star honor.
A 6’1”, 200-pound defenseman, Colonna capped off a terrific career for the Panthers. He was a dominant defensive player along the blue line and in front of the Panther net,
while scoring four goals and eight assists in 24 games. An ECAC North All-Star last season, Colonna finishes his career with 16 goals and 24 assists in 80 contests.
A 5’8”, 155-pound netminder, Forgue had an outstanding rookie campaign. He set the single-season school record for goals against average with a 2.56 mark, along with a .918
saves percentage. His goals against average and saves percentage were second-best in the 18-team ECAC Northeast, while he is ranked sixth in saves percentage and 10th in goals
against in all of NCAA Division III.
The two players were instrumental in leading Plymouth State to the ECAC Northeast play-offs for the second straight season. PSC finished 13-12-0 overall under first-year head
coach Mike Bonelli, and placed seventh in the Northeast with a 10-7-0 mark after being picked 10th in the pre-season coaches’ poll.
