BRISTOL, R.I. – Plymouth State College opened the wrestling season Saturday with a strong performance at the annual Roger Williams Invitational.

The Panthers placed fifth out of 15 teams, an improvement over last year’s eighth place team finish. American International won the event with 168.5
points, followed by Bridgewater State (120), WPI (111.5), Roger Williams (106) and Plymouth State (99.5), who finished just ahead of sixth place Trinity (98).

Plymouth State completed the tournament with a place winner in five of the 10 weight classes. The Panthers had one individual champion and one
runner-up, along with a third-, a fourth-, and a fifth-place finisher.

Leading the way for PSC were sophomore newcomers Rich Moskowitz (Amherst, N.H.) and Nate Kittredge (Virgennes, Vt.). Moskowitz captured the
individual title at 157 pounds, and Kittredge finished second in the 197-pound weight class. Senior Marco Salce (Keene, N.H.) was the top finisher among the
Panther veterans, placing third at 197.

Rounding out the list of PSC’s place winners were junior transfer Chris Villa (Monmouth, Jct., N.J.) and sophomore Steve Ferreira (Salem, N.H.), who
placed fourth and fifth, respectively, at 165.

PSC gets right back into action on Wednesday (Nov. 15) with a tri-meet against Norwich and Bridgewater State, hosted by Norwich.
