PLYMOUTH, N.H.. – Two Plymouth State College lacrosse players recently received weekly honors for their performances in games last week.
Sophomore attacker Jim Martocchio (Simsbury, CT) was selected Player of the Week in the Pilgrim League, and freshman attacker Janet Conner (South Freeport, ME) was named to the Honor Roll in the New England Women’s Lacrosses Alliance.
Martocchio led the Panthers to two opening divisional wins by scoring nine goals with two assists in triumphs at Salem State, 19-3 and at home against Keene State, 19-11. The natural goal scorer also netted four goals in an 18-6 loss against nationally ranked Colby. Martocchio leads PSC with 16 goals in just four games.
The Panther men are off to a 3-3 start and are undefeated in their second year in the Pilgrim League Conference posting a 2-0 record.
Conner, a 5’5” attacker, combined for 12 goals and two assists in Plymouth’s four games last week. The Panthers went 3-1 in the week. The freshman ripped in seven goals and added two assists in the victory over University of New England. In Conner’s collegiate debut as a Panther, she netted four goals.
The Panther women are off to a 4-1 start this season. PSC is leading the pace in the NEWLA Northern Division with a 2-0 record.
