NORTH DARTMOUTH, Mass. – Plymouth State College dropped its second game of the young ice hockey season Saturday with a 7-1 ECAC Northeast
Conference loss at the University of Massachusetts Dartmouth.

The Panthers, who lost their season opener Friday night at Salve Regina, 7-3, will look for their first victory of the season for new head coach Chris Hudon in the
home opener Tuesday night at Waterville Valley against Stonehill College (7:00 p.m.).

The Corsairs jumped out to a 3-0 lead by the end of the opening period as Walt Siggins, Chris Dussault and Shawn Alles connected on goals.

The Panthers were the first to score in the second period, as junior Tony LaScola (Farifax, Va.) converted a power play opportunity from senior Chris Tortorella
(Larchmont, N.Y.) and freshmen Aaron Keller (Concord, N.H.) five minutes into the period. But UMD put the game away with four unanswered second-period goals, two
from T.J. Brown and one apiece from Dussault and Chris Anderton.

Senior goalie Larry Forgue (Nashua, N.H.) made 30 saves before being replaced by sophomore Mike Mansson (Wilson, WY), who came on to make 10 stops.
Kevin McGowan got the win for UMMD with 17 saves, and Marc Barron came on in relief to stop three shots.
