PSC picked ninth in ECAC Northeast poll

PLYMOUTH, N.H. – Plymouth State College was picked to finish ninth out of 13 teams in the 2002-03 ECAC Northeast Conference Coaches Pre-Season Poll.

Defending league tournament champion Wentworth Institute of Technology is the coaches’ pre-season choice to claim this year’s regular season title, receiving
eight first-place votes. Last year’s regular season champion Lebanon Valley was selected second, getting one first-place votes, and Johnson & Wales (three top votes)
and UMass Dartmouth finished in a tie for third in the poll.

Rounding out the group of eight teams that were predicted to make the play-offs are Curry, Salve Regina, Fitchburg State, and Worcester State. PSC, led by
second-year head coach Chris Hudon, was chosen ninth, ahead of Framingham State, Suffolk, Nichols and Western New England.

Plymouth State finished 7-14-1 overall last season, and finished eighth in the Northeast with a 7-8-0 league mark. The Panthers traveled to Lebanon Valley
College in Pennsylvania for their first playoff game in three years, and were sent home with a 6-1 defeat.
