PLYMOUTH, N.H. – After a three and a half week break for final exams and the holidays, the Plymouth State College hockey team returns to action Tuesday (Jan. 5) with a
non-conference game at New England College (7:00 p.m.) in Henniker, N.H.
The game was a recent addition to the Panther hockey schedule. The contest will match PSC first-year head coach Mike Bonelli against his alma mater; Bonelli graduated from
NEC in 1993 after playing two years with the Pilgrims.
The Panthers, 6-4-0 overall, reached the midway point of the season under Bonelli in contention for an ECAC Northeast Conference post-season berth. PSC is tied for sixth in
the 18-team Northeast with a 4-2-0 mark, with the top eight teams at the end of the regular season advancing to the play-offs.
Plymouth State has been sparked this season by the play of freshman goaltender Larry Forgue (Nashua, NH), who is fifth in the nation in Division III with a 1.60 goals against
New England College, 2-7-0 overall, is tied for seventh place in the strong 18-team ECAC East Conference with a 2-2-0 mark.
After the NEC contest, Plymouth State returns home Saturday (Jan. 9) to host Northeast foe Johnson & Wales at Waterville Valley Ice Arena (7:00 p.m.).
