PSC Seeks Community Service Projects

April 10th, 2001 by Adam

Plymouth State College’s Community Service Learning Center is seeking community organizations with service project needs to participate in the College’s annual Pride in Service to the Community Day (PSC Day) from noon to 4 p.m., Sunday, April 29.

Each year, the Center sends student volunteers to Plymouth area organizations to help with a variety of community service projects. PSC Day is scheduled to coordinate with National Day of Service Week. Attracting approximately 300 eager volunteers, PSC Day is one of the largest such events in the state of New Hampshire.

Moss Garde, coordinator of the Community Service Learning Center, encourages all community organizations to contact the center with their projects. In addition, Garde says that they are also encouraging senior citizens to let the Center know if they would like some help with any basic maintenance, such as gardening, door and window maintenance, or other projects.

In addition, the Center is looking at ways to introduce kids to the idea of civic engagement.

The Center is also seeking sponsors to help cover the cost of tools and equipment which the volunteers need to complete these projects.

To contact the Community Service Learning Center with a project idea, or to become a sponsor, call Moss Garde at (603) 535-2815 or e-mail him at
