NEW LONDON, Conn. – Junior Heather Adey (Nashua, N.H.) led all scorers with 16 points while senior Tammi Waters (Wilmington, Vt.) added 15 points
and a team-high six rebounds off the bench Tuesday as Plymouth State College’s women’s basketball team remained unbeaten with a 73-47 win over Coast Guard
in a non-conference game.
Plymouth State (6-0) outscored Coast Guard 16-4 over the final six minutes of the first half, keyed by back-to-back three pointers by Waters to turn a 23-18
lead into a 39-22 halftime advantage. Junior Whitney Morin (Derby Line, Vt.) added 12 points for the Panthers, the only other player to score in double figures.
Amy Harmel and Tanesha Tyus led Coast Guard (1-5) with nine points each while Tyus had a game-high 11 rebounds. The Panther defense forced 32
Coast Guard turnovers.
PSC returns home for its next game Thursday against Granite State rival Colby-Sawyer College (7:00 p.m.).
