BRIDGEWATER, Mass. – The Panthers of Plymouth State College continued their strong play in the Little East Conference as they breezed by the Bears of
Bridgewater State College Saturday 3-0 at BSC’s Swenson Field.
PSC, which has won seven in row, improves to 7-3 overall and 6-0 in the LEC, The Bears are now 2-9 overall and 1-5 in the conference.
The Panthers were once again led by three of their top scorers, seniors Kerri Tarpy (Biddeford, Maine) and Courtney O’Sullivan (East Kingston, NH) and junior
Sacha Jackson (Sangerville, Maine). They each chipped in with a goal apiece, while Tarpy and junior Megan Fournier (East Waterboro, Maine) also added assists.
Plymouth State keeper Ellen Ward (Thorndike, Maine) had a relatively quiet game in net as she improved to 7-1 on the year. Ward made three saves while notching
her third straight shutout and fourth overall.
BSC keeper Johannah Price (Shannock, RI) played well in goal for the Bears, making 14 saves on the afternoon.
The Panthers are back in action Sunday (Oct. 8) as they travel to Bryant College for a 1:30 non-conference match with the Bulldogs.
