PSC never trailed in the contest. The Panthers managed a double-digit lead midway through the first half, led by 15 at the break (44-29) and were never seriously challenged the
rest of the way. The win improves PSC’s records to 16-6 overall and 7-5 in the LEC, while UMB drops to 3-19 and 0-12.
Four Panthers scored in double figures, and all 15 active Panthers got into the game. Junior Kate Fillion (Littleton, NH) led all scorers with 15 points, coming off the bench to drain
three three-pointers. Senior Lauren Santoli (Mansfield, Mass.) added 14 points, also off the Panther bench, while junior Krystyna Zagorski (Matawan, NJ) contributed 12 points and a
team-high nine rebounds and senior Courtney Jacques (Belmont, NH) chipped in with 10 points.
The struggling Beacons, who dropped their fifth straight contest, were led by freshman Dorene Smith (Somerville, MA), who scored 14 points and grabbed nine rebounds.
PSC, which is tied with Keene State for fourth in the LEC, plays two conference games next week to wrap up the regular season — Tuesday (Feb. 15) at Southern Maine (5:30
p.m.), and Saturday (Feb. 19) in the home finale against UMass Dartmouth (1 p.m.).
UMB wraps up the regular season Tuesday at home against UMass Dartmouth (5:30 p.m.) and Saturday at Keene State (1 p.m.).
